During a Cabinet session held in Amman on Wednesday, Hassan emphasized that the reopening of the airport will enhance economic and tourism opportunities for the capital Amman and for the Kingdom as a whole.
Minister of Transport Nidal Al-Qatamin highlighted the importance of expediting the completion of licensing and operational procedures for Amman Civil Airport within the designated timeframe.
In a previous statement, Al-Qatamin described the project as a national priority requiring the highest level of follow-up, noting that the airport’s operation will strengthen Jordan’s position as a key regional hub for air traffic and aviation activities, while improving competitiveness and boosting the efficiency of the civil aviation infrastructure.
He also called for intensified efforts and close coordination among all relevant entities to overcome potential obstacles and adhere to a clear timetable that ensures all stages of licensing and operation are completed without delay. He stressed the importance of regular monitoring and providing the ministry with detailed progress reports on completion rates and remaining steps.
